Tap @ Avery, doing the 10th Annual Boulder Strong Ale Festival. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, dark fruit. TAste is malts, coffee, burnt caramel, dark chocolate, plums. Medium body, soft carbonation. 090312

Boulder Strong Ale Fest. Black appearance with a dark brown head. Rich roasty, fairly bitter dark chocolate aroma. Bitter espresso, dark chocolate, roasty, a touch piney flavor. Pretty tasty brew.

Sampled from the tap at 2011 FOBAB. Poured black with a dark brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of dark grains with some raisin and a bit of backing barrel. Flavor had more barrel that combined with notes of raisin, dark grains and dark chocolate.
