Tap at the brewery: Pours near black with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and a slew of spice. Really, this is one of the most spiced beers I have ever had. Yet, the spice balanced pretty well with the roasted malts and chocolatey flavors. Pretty nice.

Tap @ Renegade. Dark brown/black appearance with a small tan head. Aromas of anise, chocolate, vanilla, mild espresso, and molasses. Radiator had a chewy, anise, chocolate flavor that was fairly enjoyable with some notes of vanilla and dark fruits.

Pour is black, with a soapy, lasting, off-white lace - nose is a bit tannic at first, but some moderately sweet vanilla and raisin arrive late, as well as some tamarind, all spice and vanilla - low carbonation, medium body - crazy drinkable for the abv, so a bit dangerous in that respect - fairly sweet, with date and tamarind fairly prominent - some vanilla, all spice and possible cardamom - finish adds a bit of nearly oaky, semi-tart, tannic character to cut the sweetness - very tasty brew.
