750 ml bottle from 2011, number 191 of 675. Aroma is fairly fruity with some red apples, over ripe stone fruit and cherries. Light pepper phenolics with some light oak notes. Some toasted bread, caramel and raisins. Light honey notes as it warms along with some burnt sugar. Pours a murky amber brown with a big, fluffy, brown head with low retention. Medium sized legs with moderate lacing. Flavor is surprisingly sweet with a moderate amount of caramel and toffee. Medium light toasted bread and raisins. Moderate fruitiness with red apples, more stone fruit and cherries. Light citrus note. Medium light bitterness with medium oak notes. Moderate phenolics with pepper and a cinnamon like character. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with fairly high carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall one of the better beers I have tasted from Funkwerks; a bit sweet but it has nice fruit and phenolic notes. Good malt character that works with the esters and phenolics.

750 ml bottle thanks to Craig. Pours a dark murky brown color with a medium off-white. A great roast and oaky, some sour aromas. A rich flavorful brew that simply defies characterization; oak, light roast, dry, sweet. Very unusual.

Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a clear deep reddish brown with a brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of dark grains and fruit with a bit of backing funk and barrel. Flavor starts with a hint of bourbon with dark grains and bread with a hint of funk.
