Bottle at the Watford tasting 26/07/14. Aroma is tart fruit , some ashy roast, dried fruits. Nice rich ruby red coloured pour with a lasting thin cream coloured head. Flavour is dried fruits, woods, oak, vanilla.. Warming alcohol. Palate is slightly chalky and tangy on the tongue. Some rough round the edges. Nice brew.

650ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with small, frothy, rapidly diminishing and completely fading, tan head. Dark malty aroma has hints of chocolate and black cherries, bitter hoppy overtones. Taste is dry hoppy, an unpleasant bitterness of "burnt something" has a medicamentous character, repressed dark malty background with a touch of chocolate and black cherries; somehow thin and light-bodied. Don’t like it.

Bottle at Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours jet black with a thin tan head, which doesn’t last. Lots going on in the aromas - cherry, chocolate, roasted malt, dark muscavado sugar. Sadly the flavour doesn’t quite deliver. Some hop bitterness, creamy mouthfeel, little bit thin. Good, but not £12 good.
