Half, guest draft at BrewDog Leeds. Dark-brown body with a reddish tint. Diminishing, fawn-coloured head. Fragile lacework. Smell of dark malts with liquorice up front. Dark malty flavours supported by grassy hops and bitter liquorice towards the ending. Masked alcohol. Well balanced. A good one (Relaxing in Leeds on a Sunday afternoon, 30.06.2013).

65 cl bottle @ home, ”best by 26.03.2013”
Aroma has cocoa, soy sauce and licorice. Flavour has soy sauce, lots of salty licorice and hints of cocoa. Finishes with some hops, more salty licorice and distant herbal notes. Way too salty.

Bottle. Very dark brown color, small but thick beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of dark roasted coffee, dark bitter cocoa. Taste is bitter pine, unsweetened cocoa. Good stuff.

Bottle. Almost clear, dark brown liquid with small light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, fruity yeast esters, sweet dried fruit, licorice, light booze, dark bread and some light smoke. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of licorice, dried fruit and pumpernickel. Light to medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Quite OK, but a bit boring and one-dimensional.

En riktig kraftfull Imperial Porter. Mycket smak av choklad, karamell, farinsocker, kola. Jämn, en aning krämig med en tunn beska. Välbalanserad men ett uns för söt.

Bottle. Dark brown, almost black colour, with a small tan head with some lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel. Light, almost watery. Flavour is rather weak, a bit of bitterness, malt, chocolate. Not a bad beer but disappointing. Too weak and tasteless.

22oz bomber poured into a shaker. Pours a very dark brown with about a finger of light tan head. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate with a hint of sweet dark cherry. Taste is light bitter. Sweet and dark chocolate, coffee and cherry. Full bodied with a thin and slick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. I could drink this again, especially at 5 bucks per bomber.
