On tap at Petrol Station. Pours near black with a gray head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has notes of deep roasted malts with sweet chocolate and a hint of anise. Flavor has notes of chocolate and roasted malt with an odd medicinal cherry note.

650 ml bottle @ Bishops Arms: Örebro on November 26. Pours black with a rather small brownish white head that clings to the glass while quickly dissipating. Smell is roasted malts, liquorice and coffee. Taste is full-bodied and bitter with heavily roasted malts and coffee. There’s also some bitter chocolate and prunes. Finish is dry and bitter with lots of black coffee.

(Bottle) Very dark brown colour with hints of ruby when seen through light. Brief frothy beige head. Malty, roasted, slightly fruity nose with notes of chocolate, dried fruit (dates, raisins), orange peel, treacle, spruce needles and a hint of ginger. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, ashes, liquorice, dried fruit, coffee, Seville orange, honey and a slightly harsh piney bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, fairly sweet. Tasty and very nice.

Bottle @Pikkulintu, Helsinki 24.7.2011. Poured black with a creamy brown head. Roasted malty and honey aroma, some liquirice as well. Flavor has roasted malt, cocoa and liquirice. Bit on the sweet side for me, but overall an enjoyable porter.
