A clean crisp German Style Pale Ale. Common to the Cologne area of Germany, our Blonde Ale is brewed in the tradition of Kolsch beers found in that region. It pours a light golden yellow with a full white head. This beer has a fantastic nose with hints of apricots and peaches. Great on a hot summer’s day or any day for that matter.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden with small frothy off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a honey wheat malt. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet fruit malt and honey. Easy to drink a decrnt kolsch from Twisted Pine.

Tap @ brewery. Clear golden appearance with a fluffy white head. Very light golden malty, grassy hoppy aroma. Grassy hoppy, light bodied, golden malty flavor. Bleh.

12 oz bottle. Pale orange-yellow, foamy head. Serious floaty action, odd for the style. Sweet, sugary, doughy aroma. Quite bitter and lemony for the style. Hmm..while not an unenjoyable beer, it just doesn’t reallty capture the essence of the Kolsch. Too big, too sweet, too lemony. It does have an interesting, almost herbal character that reminds me of herb-centric Americans Saisons. A decent beer, quite sessionable, but would be better off losing the Kolsch descriptor.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a very sweet grain and not much else. Flavor is again a dull grain and no hops what so ever. Not a good beer with a style I’m not fond of.

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Pours hazy orange gold with a decent foamy white head. Aromas of mild stone fruit and maybe grassy hop. Near medium body with very foamy carbonation. Flavor hints of citrus, peach and mild citric hop. Finishes mildly bitter. One of the more pleasing Kolsch I can recall.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of straw and malt as well as hints of citrus. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and malt, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is thin.

tap at the brewpub - Pours clear yellow with good lacing. The aroma is pale malt with light fruity esters in the background of both the aroma and flavor. It’s a sweet, light, refreshing beer as the style should be. It’s still fairly average overall, but maybe a little better than it’s rated.
