Roll up your sleeves and get to work in this Imperial Porter. Named after the 18th Century luggage porters in London, it’s been a well-deserved reward for the laborer for over 200 years. We put in the extra hours and doubled it for a Small Batch Series. Job well done folks, job well done.

Bottle @ home. Reddish brown appearance with a small tan head. Slight fruit tartness, mild chocolate, light espresso aroma. Tangy, light chocolate, mineral, slight fruity, burnt flavor. Bleh.

Bottle: Pours a moderate depth brown with virtually no head. Nose is almost nonexistent, albeit slightly musty and barely a hint of roast. Tastes sweet with very light roast. Chocolate and molasses with very little roast and bits of coffee. Sort of sweet and stale at the same time. Not something I’ll have again.

Sample at Breckenridge Ball Park Brew Pub in Denver. This brew is blackish brown with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of cocoa and coffee plus some roasted malt. Medium body with flavors of dark chocolate, weak coffee and a touch of dark fruit. Not as robust as expected given the ABV and "Imperial" tag. The finish is roasty with a coffee aftertaste that lingers a bit. Decent overall.

bottle - Pours very dark brown with a one finger light tan head. It has some coffee and roast malt aroma. The flavor is of roast malt, chocolate, and vanilla. It’s sweet, medium bodied, and the finish is of chocolate with some alcohol. Good, but underwhelming for a special, small batch release.

Pours a dark ruby with a sudsy lace - smells a tastes more like a traditional baltic porter than a "imperial porter" - smooth, almost lagered taste - some fruity, berry-ish notes behind some dark chocolate, dough, roast, light ashy notes - high sweetness, but it is clean, not sticky, again, reminding me more of a baltic porter - finishes with strong vanilla and long lingering sweetness - not bad.
