Sample from a bomber. Dark brown, with a small, beige foamy head. The nose is toffee, light roast coffee, and syrup. Sweet and malty, with a light bitterness. Medium body, chalky mouthfeel, and clean finish. This is a pretty nice, easy porter.

Bottle with thanks to Eric! Pours nearly opaque dark brown with a very small instantly dissipating beige head. Some lacing sticks around for show. Aroma is roasty, smoky, coffee grounds and ashtrays. Flavor is light plus sweet and noticeably smoky. A touch of astringence but not much bitterness. Fairly light bodied, but not a bad beverage in all.

Bottle @ Home. Pours black with a small creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, milk chocolate, light smokey. Taste is malts, coffee, licorice, chocolate, lightly smokey. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation. would have liked a little more smoke in this, still nice tho. 160312

Bottle @ dan’s house. Brown appearance with a smallish, big bubbly tan off white head. Dark toffee, moderate toasty, mild smoky aroma. Caramel, toffee, fairly highly carbonated, mildly smoky flavor. Pretty tasty but not very smoky.

This beer is a dark brown color with a medium light tan head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Smoky aroma with mild roast coffee in the background. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, caramel and dark chocolate. The finish retains the smoked character and leaves a roasty malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Courtesy of TampaBrew. Pours amber – brown with thin off white head. The aroma is mild with roast, near burnt malts, caramel malts and a touch of molasses. The taste begins with light caramel and chocolate notes and then moving into modest levels of roasty malts and orange hard candy. No smoke. What?

Pours a dark ruby/brown, with a small fizzy ring - kind of looks like cola - aroma of roasted malts, light vanilla, a touch of smoke, burnt/caramelized sugar - medium/light body, moderate carbonation - roasty and moderately dry - some chocolate and blueberry - mildly smoky - ends with some ashy character and tobacco-ish notes - a little thin - decent, but there are far better smoked porters out there.
