Bru-1 is a varietal, much like Vic Secret last year, that we feel we’ve sorely neglected after using it so feverishly when we first got our hands on it. We’re bringing it roaring back into our brew plans here with A Different View; a DDH Pale hopped to the nines with Enigma, Citra, and the aforementioned stateside smasher. Running a small addition of Citra through the whirlpool at 80 degrees, this beer is backed up with plenty of bitterness to counteract the full on pineapple explosion from Bru-1, along with the intense medley of redcurrant, raspberries and stonefruits from the purported “Chameleon hop” Enigma, before rounding off with juicy fresh cut grapefruit, blood orange and pomelo from the addition of Citra.

Keg at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Aromas of mango, papaya, peach, sweet citrus, touch of grapefruit. Taste is orange peel, lemon zest, grapefruit, tropical fruit. Nice mix of flavours. Long bittersweet finish. Tasty.
