Oaked 5th was originally crafted in celebration of 5 BOLD years in business but was so tasty that we've kept it around for nearly 10! This cider blend imparts French and American oak notes, providing for an earthy roasted almond flavor accompanied by toffee and vanilla with a smooth, dry finish. Oaked 5th is part of Barrel Barn line of limited release cider varieties and is only available at Bold Rock taproom locations.

Keg at Bold Rock Downtown Asheville, 4/26/23. Clear gold, thin white head. Aroma of sweet apple, oak, vanilla. Taste is apple, pear, oak. Decent. Probably the best I tried this visit.

On tap @BoldRockAVL. Taster. Almost at the finish line. Clear, bright, spritzy. Looks like most everything else. Smells like potato chips. Why? Fake oak, fake maple. Fake apple essence. Cooked down sugar flavor. Even got the bartender to admit he didn't like it. Reminds me of oaked Woodchuck. Sweet, eventually turning dry. Carbonation was middling. Really artificial & unpleasant.
