Santas Calaveras CHIPOTE-LES is a saison type blond beer brewed with chipotle as well as dried and smoked mexican chilli pepper. In its taste, we find subtle flavors of smoke, spices, tropical and citrus fruits. It has an average body for a spicy and slightly bitter finish. CHIPOTE-LES is a beer of character that warms the body and the spirit but doesn't burn the throat!

Hops: Magnum, Citra, Ekuanot. Malts: Pils, Vienna, Oats, Crystal. Yeast: Belle Saison.

28/06/2018 - 33cl bottle on train, bought from the brewer @ Summer Pops, Schaarbeek. Drank from the bottle. Nose is fine fresh fruity & bitter hops, herbal touch and spicy. Taste is first fruits from the hops, bitterness and at the end the heavy spicy touch from the chipotle that comes through really fine when needed, just at the end. Damn nice if this is one of your first beers.

Bottle. Pours nearly clear, lighter to average amber in color. Small soapy head fades fast. Smell is tad bitter, creamy, sweet, breaddoughy maltyness. Very mild herbal touch, I guess from the chipotle. overal medium low to low in intensity. Taste is sharp, hard bitter start, lifted up by the overcarbonation. Chipotle follows instantly, at a too high intensity that is. Unpleasant to me in it's earthy, spicy flavor. Very, very mild heat at the end. Basebeer seems very weak, chipotle to high.
