Toasted Lager was originally named for the “toasted” characteristic of our original direct-fire brick kettle. Our World Beer Cup gold medal winning flagship brew is brewed with a blend of six specialty malts for a flavor as rich and unique as the town it’s from. Toasted Lager’s balanced flavor of malt and hops makes for easy drinking and our special proprietary lager yeast produces an exceptional, long-lasting smooth finish.

On tap. Pours a cloudy brown with a large frothy white head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is toasted malt and toffee. Thin mouthfeel with light toffee malt and sweet finish. Good.

12 oz. bottle. Pours copper, with a medium, beige head. Aroma of caramel, pecans, light raspberries, black pepper, and apple. Sweet, with a light, mellow bitterness. Light to medium body, smooth, crisp, and sticky. This is a surprisingly flavorful and delicious beer. Smooth, light and drinkable, but with a lot going on.

Bottle. Light amber color, no head or lacing. Aroma of caramel. Taste is too bitter and too light. Not very interesting.

The last moment of my VIP invasion. Again I’m glad I didn’t pay - being VIP doesn’t pay in the craft beer scene. At least I got a free bag of cheesies. On tap at the DC Summerfest.

Bottle from Kihoskh shared by MrHangover. Clear orange to amber color, small off-white head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, a hint of caramel, a bit dusty. Average body, lively carbonation. Meh.

Bottle @ home via trade. Thanks! Pours a rust orange appearance with a cream colored head. The aroma has a nice lemony smell going on with some sweet toasted cracker notes. Some caramel and plenty of herbal notes. Nice body. Moderate sweetness. Herbal / earthy hops in the flavor. Maybe a touch thick mouth feel. Overall pretty damn good brew.
