Bottle from the BK Cider House event during NYC cider week. Duvel tulip. Bottle chilled in the fridge for a few weeks. Clear, oily dark gold body. Smells of seriously sharp, acidic apples, apricots, white wine, rubbing alcohol. Taste is caustically acidic, bitter & slightly offensive while cold. Had no choice but to forget about it for a half hour. Came back & it mellowed just enough to be bright, fruity & enamel stripping. Tart apricots, puckering sour unripened fruit. Lingering fruit & tongue-y pith. Laquered, woody finish. Strong. Big, bold flavor. A lot of what you want in a good cider, but without moderstion. Hard to do a whole bottle, but eventually did. Grows on ya. Would love to cut this into something lighter.
