Bottle from Brooklyn Cider's holiday market. Batch 1701. Had this once before at Spuytin, but didn't grab notes. Rare Vos glass. Big head. Filtered, bright, amber lager territory. Tart apples, sweet pears, peach skin, morning dew or some other really fresh-smelling naturesqe equivalent. Big, biting & carbonic first impression. Not tight, but coarse, burn if you drink too fast bubbles. Second time around it's all seed, core & leaves; crazy tannic. Bitterness like it's dry-hopped with something herbal. Only moderate tartness. There's some faint fruitiness behind all this, apple & unripe/dried out plum if you can place that memory of biting into one. Finishes quite obviously, dry & boozy. Anyway, good cider, very big impression, but it's just too harsh to enjoy at length, which is what usually gets my good grades.

Bottle at home on Sunday evening. Relativly still hazy apple pour. Nose is leaf litter, snappy crab apple. Tastes of wild apples, pears, leaves, and champagne. Very dry and some light natural carbonation. Lingering apple on tongue. Really good.
