Our piney, dank, and mind-bending East Coast IPA is a huge part of Blue Point's history. As Long Island's original IPA, it is often the first IPA of many local drinkers who pass the love for this crushable IPA from generation to generation.

Hoptical Illusion's malt-forward body and piney hop kick have landed it 4 notable awards, including a GABF medal.

Bottle. Poured a golden color, some carbonation on edges, and a small off-white head. Aroma was some nice pine notes, but it may have been a little old on the shelf since it was a bit more mellow than I had hoped for a beer with a hop pun in the title. Flavor is quite nice, some nice pale malts, moderately sweet, pretty well balanced. Flavorful, almost sessionable!

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks zvikar. Clear golden. Floral and citric hops aroma with a bit of notes of aged hops. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt, a bit bready, and pleasant moderate floral hops bitterness. Medium-bodied. A slightly mild IPA but quite nice.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear copper with medium frothy white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong floral hop and grapefruit. Medium mouthfeel with sweet hop and nice lingering bitter finish. Easy to drink a very good IPA from Blue Point.
