This singular amber ale, brewed with a touch of smoked malt whisky, offers the delicate taste of fine Belgian yeast and caramelized apples.
It celebrates the courage and festive spirit of the log drivers of yesteryear.

330ml bottle bought in Brouage, France. Deep amber colour with a decent but short-lived white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet oranges, spice and earthy hops. Flavour started sweet, with plenty of sticky fruit and a hint of peat in the finish. Very good.

Orange with a small white head. Malty caramel aroma with a hint of mango - I didn’t detect much smoke. Sweet and clean malty flavour.

RB#3700: 34.1 cL bottle, same bottle as the 33 cL bottle, thanks to BelJohansen. Pours hazy orange with lacing white head. Light orange fruity aroma. Flavour is light fruity with a malty note. Ends slight citric and acidic. I dont pick up any smoke in this.

Bottle: Poured a hazy brown with a thin carbonated white head. The aroma is a bit winey fruit, faint smokey touch. Taste is a touch off its gritty and spicy with a malt finish. There is some faint apple in the aftertaste.

Bottle from Utobeer. Hazy orange gold colour with lasting beige head. Orangey Belgian/Scottish mix. Bizarre, but oddly likeable. Very Belgian with good orangey toffee.

Bottle. Clear amber color with a average fizzy fair lacing mostly lasting off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty and yeasty, sweet, light smoke and whisky notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light acidic and moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft.

Huge, yellowish dense head over darker amber beer, heavily carbonated. Greenery nose, with a touch of caramel. Hints at greenmalt ever. Very outspoken caramel-maltstaste, biscuit, sweet pie crust. A little bit of oxydation (slightly aged sample), outspoken malt character. Some touches of coffee cream, or sugared thick milk. Medium bodied, heavily carbonated feel, end slickness. Rather sweet, weekday ale, not very interesting. Smoked????

Pours orange/red into a shaker. Conglomerate head crackles as it recedes leaving no lacing. Spicy fruit a Unibroue yeast aromas. Highly carbonated apricot, dry whiskey finish.
