Taster at the brewery. Pours black, with a small, khaki head. Heavy coffee aromas, with a pretty harsh roast. Some peanuts, syrup, cocoa, and pine. Sweet and malty, with a strong, burnt bitterness. Heavy body, with a syrupy, lightly acidic mouthfeel. Coffee isn't my thing, but this is pretty nice. Overly roasty, in my opinion, but a lovely aroma.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong coffee bean, cocoa, vanilla. Medium mouth, dark chocolate, roast, light bitter finish and lingering dryness, very nice.

Tulip at the brewery - they laid the coffee on thick here - being a coffee fanatic, I don’t really mind - the only problem is that the bitterness and roast are a bit astringent and abrasive on the tail end - before that, though, this has a rich combo of coffee and dark malt character, tasting very much like chocolate covered espresso beans - a bit of vanilla bean and tobacco - as mentioned, the finish is a little rough, but this is decent.
