Our Hard Root Beer is a hand-crafted adult twist on a classic soda. Creamy, smooth, and sweet but not cloying, the 7.5% ABV in this Hard Root Beer is all but undetectable. With traditional root beer notes of sarsaparilla and vanilla, this is a craft beverage for someone craving something a little different. Serve over ice or with a scoop of ice cream and enjoy.

I have avoided stuff like this (for the most part), yet somehow ended up with a bottle from Wine Warehouse today. $2.20. Pours deep brown, looks like cola (or root beer). Smells just like root beer - a bit sweet smelling, but not offensive. Flavor is root beer, alcohol, sugar, syrup, mint. I don't know wtf this is. Is this really a "beer"?

Sarsparilla nose, hints of tootsie roll, candy. Black, medium fizzy brown head with no retention. Sweet rootbeer initially, a burst of licorice at midpalate. Wintergreen snuff and tar as it warms. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Rated for the alcopop it is.

12 oz bottle poured into a nonic pint glass. Dark brownish black with fizzy light tan head reminiscent of soda that fades fairly quickly. Aromas of root beer spices, those little root beer barrel candies, licorice. Tastes pretty much like a root beer, some licorice and sarsaparilla. Light body with a semi-dry finish. For what it is, it works fairly well. Could be dangerously easy to get smashed off of this at 7.5% with no noticeable alcohol.

12oz bottle from Supermarket Liquor
Pours dark brown with a small tan head that dissipates quickly, no lacing. Smells like those for beer candies we used to chew on years ago, medicinal. Unfortunately it doesn’t taste s good as those candies used to. Medicinal, vanilla, root beer and bitter

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Dark brown with a thin fizzy head that quickly fades. Aroma of sarsaparilla with a bit of spice. The taste is vanilla, root beer, spice. Thin bodied. Decent.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is strong root beer and liquor. Thin mouth, boozy root beer just as advertised, very good.

Bottle from Corti Brothers. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Smells exactly like the good old root beer from days of yore. Med body. Flavor is very sarsaparilla. Maybe the flavor is sturdier than the good old stuff. It is not dry. Not cloying either, tho it makes me think about it. Very nice thing to have.

Dark brown pour with a medium fizzy light beige head that burns away steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of root beer and malt. Medium body with a root beer character and vanilla and spice notes. The finish is sweet with a mildly spicy root beer aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pour is a black with a noisy large tan head. Aroma is like root beer soda. That typical anise and black licorice with some sweetness. Flavor is a bit watery and bland. Not much of that root beer soda shows up. Its a bit sweet and that’s about it. Smells great but what happened to the flavor? Way watery. You could probably make this better yourself with some Barq’s root beer soda and a splash of some white rum.
