Bottle thanks to JB175. 2008 bottle. 100th rating for this beer. Pours with a foamy, off-white head that fades over a muddy pink to blood red body. Aroma of raspberry jam, a ton of tannins, vanilla and oak. Really nice smell that is ever so slightly acidic. Taste is strong with tart raspberry and very HEAVY on the oak (virgin barrel I assume). Tart, but not sour with raspberry pits. Tingly carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel.
