Bottle at home. Aroma is bready malt, caramel, toast, some toffee, overripe fruits, piney hoppy notes. Flavour is over moderate sweet with an over moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice hoppy caramel Amber, a bit like a light Barley Wine, clearly this beer wants to grow up and become Anchor’s Old Foghorn.

Hazy medium amber colour, good frothy beige head, good retention, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, raisins, light cocoa, alcohol notes. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, roasted malt, caramel, raisins, hint of chocolate. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, lingering roast, light chocolate, spicy notes, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Gives a bit rough impression, nice.

Red brown colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have a nice mix of floral, bitter hops and sweet caramel. A touch of candy sweetness too.

Wow. This is a big, boozy mess of a beer, with aromas of milo, fermented fruit, cherries and biscuits. It's extremely sweet in the mouth, before eventually tapering off with a little mint, pepper and more of that cherry. Urgh, this one is not doing it for me.

Sampled at a blind tasting with Dr Beer. Pours Darker amber ( oxidized metal color ) around 20 SRM. No real head. Smell is sharp, mild gingerbread-like spices. a distant, fruity undertone. taste is mildly bitter, bit creamy, almost buttery-in a nice way. Assertive bitter touch in the back, aromatic ( raisins and other fruityness ) in the maltyness. caramelly.
