This Imperial Saison was brewed with holy basil and pink peppercorns. It’s as homegrown as you can get. We added caramelized wild flower honey from local producer Massey Honey Co. and New Zealand Wakatu and Wai-Iti hops to bring in subtle hints of citrus and tropical fruits. We fermented with authentic French Farmhouse yeast and aged it in Chardonnay barrels that give distinctive flavor and nuance making this beer perfect for a hot day working in the lab. Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Iron Fist Brewing Co., this intricate blend will commemorate the 5th Annual OC Brew Ha Ha Craft Beer festival that runs every September in Orange County, CA.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a clear orange with medium frothy white head. The aroma is strong honey and floral. Medium mouth, honey, vinous, spice, lingering sweetness, very good.

Hazy orange - gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy with good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth sweet malts, creamy sweet with an intrinsic floralness, perhaps from the honey. Trace of peppery spice. Hops bring mellow lemon - lime. Light crispy finish. Comes together well. A sweet and interesting beer, slightly off the beaten track.
