Aromas are dark malt, roast, spice, maybe hints of dark fruit cocoa and coffee. Flavors are similar to nose with a little metallic. Single fermentation. Not bad not great.

Tall boy can - clear dark purple pour - nose is plum, sugar, and light smokey phenols - flavor ids sweet, with dark fruit, light peppery spice, mild dusty yeast phenolics - slightly drying finish, with some lingering warmth but nothing I would call booziness - it's okay.

Bottle. A- Raisins, bubblegum, fruity esters. A- Black color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Fruity, banana, bubblegum, raisins, cocoa, roasty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, fruity finish. O- Dark color, but not sure what else makes this a "black" quad. Pretty decent. Perhaps tastes more like a Triple than a quad. Overall, good.

Another from Real Ale’s fine list of bombers. It pours very dark, black with a red tinge. Gives a nice tan finely-bubbled foam that stays. It has a nose of dark fruit. I get from the taste cherry, dark chocolate, malt, tastes for the basic style I think from my frequent experiences. All leading to a dry finish with noticeable alcohol. All in all, a good effort from Texas at a complex Belgian. Great value.

On tap at Whip-In. Pours a very dark brown with a small beige head leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is raisin and caramel malt. thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt and caramel. Hides alcohol well, a very good Quad from Real Ale.
