Bottle from the eighties. Pours clear dark blonde, not much head. Smell is intense oxidation. Madeira and dust. Taste is Sharp, Dusty, oxidation, maderization, bit metallic. Ok mf.

(Bottle 33 cl) Brewed for "ABTS" (whatever that is) in Bierbeek. Hazy brown with a nice, fluffy head. Extremely refined flavours in the direction of aged port wine. Vinous with more acidity than bitterness. Could resemble some of the more sophisticated trappists. Van Steenbeerge brews an incredible amount of beers of varying quality, but this is truly excellent. Bij het opruimen van wat oude aantekeningen kwam ik ook een omschrijving tegen van dit bier, dat ik naast een Augustijn (toen nog zonder Blond) dronk. Geur was zoetig, moutig, alcohol. Smaak iets zoetig, moutig. Vrij stevig alcohol gevoel. Flink veel CO2, elke slok wordt eerst een bek vol schuim. Medium body. Weinig nieuws in de afdronk. Waarschijnlijk idd hetzelfde als Augustijn.
