Pine and bark. Pours hazy orange without much head or lacing. Green onions. Doesn't taste complete here - balance is off. Tap at brewery.

At the source: pours amber with a white head. Aroma is piny and resinous. Taste is bitter and piny. Pretty nice for what it is. Old school. Slight hints of citruses, but far from the focal point. Not bad.

Cloudy, fruity nose, papaya and pomelo, moderate bitterness, but the sweet malt character is very good - not so much bready but more like sugars that complement the hop fruitiness really well.

On tap at Optimism, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops upfront, with a pronouncedly woody character, and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with a woody and piney hoppy character that coats the palate. Dry, bitter finish, with some citrus in there. Nicely made but not particularly ambitious.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper with small off white head. The aroma is pine and grass. Medium body, bready malt, cocoa, light dry finish, good.
