Sample at Gabf. Pours a hazy gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is ash, wood, leather. Medium body, smoke, leather, oak, dry finish, good

Bomber, shared with Timmy. Pours a light straw color, with a big, bubbly, off-white head. The nose is musty hay, light caramel, and strong lemon peels. I got no real smokiness in the initial aroma, but the first sip was fully of hickory smoke and some light fruit. The flavor is sweet, with a light citrusy tartness. Light to medium body, crisp, bubbly, and a little hard. This is a fun and unique beer, but the combination of citrus and smoke never quite worked for me. Clearly well made and interesting, but fundamentally, just not that good. Re-rate from a 2015 bomber shipped to me by Ian. Smoke is still strong and pleasant, but the tartness has mellowed down to a beautiful funk. Smooth, balanced, and thoroughly enjoyable. The years were kind to this lovely beer!
