You’re holding in your hand a blended barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout, a blend of beers that aged a few months in rum, whisky and bourbon barrels.
Today, ten months after it was brewed, it finally made it into bottles. Time to try it, don’t you think?

Pours dark brown, just a bit of beige foam. Aroma is leathery roast - and feels somewhat green and also alcoholic, bit of cane sugar mixed in. Taste.. Do I really have to describe it? Probably of of the booziest beers I have had for a long time. I have no idea why these barrels were blended if the result did not benefit - it has some old oak, and mould in the taste, other than that just alcohol - and not very good alcohol. It gets really awful when it warms, wow, that tastes really bad. This beer is by far the worst barrel aged imperial stout I have ever had! And this is really forgiving style.

Light medium brown color. Smells like rubbing alcohol. Super too rough. Super boozy, rough as hell, light body. Very little roasted malt. The alcohol grabs my brain and shakes it. Terrible.

Bottle from Mesjasz. Many thanks! Dark brown colour, beige foam. Sweet nose of plums, roasted malts, coffee. Bitter and roasty, light caramel notes. Very nice.

BOTTLE 33 CL, Pitch black, beige head. Nice desert like toasted marshmallows, alcohol infused chocolate candies, pretty strong spirit notes (presumably Rum is the most powerful) - a little over the beer, and a little bit of plain alcohol. The flavour is pretty close, medium sweet, light slightly acrid bitterness. Thinnish boozy body. Mediocre and unrefined for a barrel aged impy.

330 ml bottle at home. Black color with beige head. Aroma especially in the beginning is not good, malty, grainy, beans, soy sauce, some alcohol notes. Taste is the same, sweet and bitter with bad grainy and soy sauce notes. Aftertaste is a little bit better. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Pours black, small grey head. Smell is intense roasty, oak, bourbon, bit Sharp. Taste is Sharp, bit oxidized almost, vey roasted grains, some oak, medium bitterness, some alcohol-dryness, but no real alcohol taste or warmth. The body here is shamefully thin, but at least the carbo is alright.

Bottle at a tasting. Moderate warmth, lots of maltiness, dried fruits, lightly roasty, chocolate. However it seems rough around the edges, slightly off balance. Still quite good, but not my favourite.
