Pours deep amber into a snifter. Billowing off-white head with good retention slowly craters and recedes leaving sheet lacing. Roasted nuts and pine aromas. Crisp and dry with earth and toast upfront turning to woody resin in the lasting finish.

Bottle. It’s a slightly hazy, orange-golden beer topped by a medium-sized, dense, beige head leaving lacings. It resiny and citrus-peel like on the nose, the malts are playing second violin, but sure present. It has a wonderful bitterness in the mouth, full-bodied, nicely carbonated and slightly warming. There’s citrus peel and resins too, and as for the aroma, the malts are present but left in the back. Sugar and toffee. Lasting finish with good bitterness, everything like the initial flavor actually. Overall, a highly drinkable, well-tasting and quite quenching beer that I want on tap at home. 101013

A hazed amber IPA with a thick off white head, lacing. In aroma, a pungeant musty floral hops, meaty and mentholated. In mouth, a funky IPA with musty grapes, light oxidation, minty and interesting, interesting. On tap at Blue Tusk, August 27 2010.

Bottled. Reddish amber colour, mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is fruits, grass and some floral hops along with mild spicy and sweet malty notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Very pleasantly balanced. One of the better in the Single Hop series.

Bottle. Pours a hazy pale copper with a frothy head and aromas of citrus and tropical fruit (mango, papaya and pineapple.) Flavor is a little weaker than aroma... like the tropical fruit medley doesn’t quite mix with the caramel malt... not sure if this would be better with a different malt base that was a bit lighter or not, but it seems a little off... It’s not bad, but doesn’t seem to come together seamlessly.
