Can, from Trader Joe's, Chicago. Faintly cloudy dark amber-copper, very small frothy beige head, faint caramel malt aroma, high carbonation, mildly bitter caramel malt taste, thin smooth body, long finish. A nice marzen.

12oz can. Toasty rich malt tone. Perfect hop balance. A lot of depth but it all comes together perfectly. Excellent.

From tap. Pours hazy orange. Small white head. Aroma is toasted malty. Bitter. Caramelish and breadish. Toasted finish. Classic US take on an Octoberfest beer, far from the real thing.

Bottle. Pours a hazy copper with small white head that lasts. The aroma is spice, toasted malt, dark fruit. Medium body, bread, caramel, spice finish, good.

Enjoyed on tap at Sheffield’s in Chicago, IL while eating dinner with some friends, talking about random stuff. I didn’t take tasting notes, so I’m not going to get into details about specifics, but I remember this being an above-average Oktoberfest brew, and would gladly like to have this one again.
