(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, oak wood, bourbon, liquorice, orange peel, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and spices (anise). Malty, vinous taste with notes of caramel, oak wood, liquorice, orange peel, raisins, vanilla, chocolate, black coffee and a vinous bourbon glow in a finish with a mild bitterness. Medium body, quite sweet. Spritzy carbonation. Tasty and really well balanced for its strength, with lots of bourbon and liquorice. Very nice.

Sample from the bottle at Olutexpo 2018, Helsinki. Colour is almost black with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Berries, dark berries, plum, dryness, some chocolate, wood and some malts. Tacky dry woody imp. Strange.

Bottle from the dregs run. Pours near-black with a thin tan head. Aromas of bourbon, coffee, vanilla, faint citrus peel. Quite a rich mouthfeel, chocolate and more coffee and vanilla. Orange peel reappears. A little boozy on the finish maybe, but nice overall.

Appearance is kind of average with an opaque brown black color small tanned head and very little lace. Aroma is lots of dark ripe fruit roast and dark malt. Flavor is mainly sweet somewhat like Nose, soft carbonation and decent but not great. Body is a touch on the thin side and okay. Warming alcohol comes through in the Finish. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this beer.
