Bottle at RateBeer Awards. Pours a dark copper with medium tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong oak, leather, vinegar, grape. Medium body, red wine, vinegar, leather, oak, boozy, good.

Lugosi On tap at the brewery. Aroma is fairly malty with some moderately strong toasted bread notes and lighter caramel and toffee. Light acidity with some citrus and tropical fruit. Medium light notes of berries and dark cherries. A hint of alcohol. Pours a murky brown with one auburn hues and a small, light tan head that quickly recedes to the edges where it lingers. Flavor is moderately acidic with a nice malt profile. Lots of toasted bread with some caramel and toffee. Some red wine notes with berries and cherries. Medium light acidity with some alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a good strong, Flanders style beer. Lots of dark fruit and cherries with a strong, but balanced malt backbone. Acidity grows as it warms as do the cherries and berries. Interesting, but too strong and dark for my preferences.
