Dark Signal is inspired by Cleveland’s railroad history and long-running routes like the “Lakeshore Limited” which still passes through Cleveland nightly. In railroad lingo, a “dark signal” means a train must come to a full stop before proceeding. You might stop in your tracks too after hopping aboard our Quad’s fruity esters and sweet, warming finish.

Sample at the CCBW Six One Pour festival on 05/12/2018. Dark mahogany-brown color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of fruit, yeast and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of dark fruit, earthy yeast and caramel malt. The finish is fruity yeast and malt. Pretty good overall.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark brown color with a large foamy tan head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was toasty, woody, malty, yeasty and had a dark fruit note. The flavor was toasty malts, wood, molasses, fig, raisin and a touch of medicine. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied.

On tap at GABF as "Dark Signal Quad". Pours a dark amber with small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong spice, pure sugar, dark fruit. Medium body, yeast, raisin, fig, boozy finish, good.
