Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - opaque black with a creamy fawn head. Nose - bubble gum and marshmallow. Well didn't expect that. Caramel and chocolate at the back. Taste - more of the caramel and chocolate this time, but general feeling of Rocky Road. Palate - medium to full bodied Creamy texture and sweet finish. Strangely thin at the end. Overall - good.

Très bel Imperial Stout qui ne fait pas son âge, ce Samuel Smith jouit à la fois d'un bel équilibre structurel, mais également aromatique. Ainsi, à une base maltée torréfiée répond admirablement une amertume fine et élégante sur un joli cocktail sur le café, le chocolat, la poire, les fruits noirs, la cannelle, de légères épices et le sherry. L'alcool n'est pas en reste et du haut de ses 7 % sait être efficace. La complexité et l'évolution aromatique sont également très intéressantes et c'est davantage du côté de la longueur, un peu courte qu'il faut aller chercher un petit bémol. Le visuel est sur un noir total, quasiment sans mousse. Le nez, très appréciable nous invite au voyage avec café, chocolat, poire, cannelle et sherry. L'alliance amertume et malt torréfié est très bien dosé. A l'attaque c'est une texture fine que l'on découvre et des arômes reprenant ceux du nez avzc de légères épices. La deuxième bouche qui gagne en puissance, voit ces épices gagner en intensité avec un duo café/fruit noir très intéressant. Si la corpulence n'est pas exceptionnelle, l'ensemble est élégant avec une amertume élancée et un alcool raffiné. Les arômes torréfiés se font un peu plus présent en arrière-bouche donnant une bonne assise au stout. Le final s'essayant sur l'amertume est tout de même un peu court. Mais cela n'empêche en rien de saluer ce brin d'histoire.

Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en licht bitter met iets van chocolade, koffie en cacao.

Perhaps a little oxidized. Light for the style. But very nice flavours that are there. Good full creamy body for the low abv. Hopcult dresden

Fles 35,5cl thuis. Rozijn, wat zurig, chocolade, zoetje, roasted malts, carameltonen, bitters. (14-2-2020).

Flaska från systembolaget. Svart med ett fast fluffigt skum. Doftar choklad och rostad malt. Ganska rå, torr och enkel men bra stout. Rostad malt, röda bär och lite läder.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Black with a medium tan head. Quite mild with chocolate, coffee, caramel and hints of nuts. The bitterness was soft. An old school Imperial Stout that was easy to drink.

Flaska. Välgjord, behaglig IS med malt som för tankarna till kaffebönor och karamell. Humlen spelar andrafiolen här men bidrar med lite örter alldeles på slutet. Mjukt och i balans.
