This creation from our brewmaster is based on a 100-year-old recipe of Ottakringer and for sure will make hearts of beer lovers beat faster. This historic beer composition made from Viennese malt, melanoidin malt and the finest Saaz hops captivates with its striking, amber reflections. The Wiener Original has a fine nutty note, and a flavour that transcends into an elegant malt aroma. The Wiener Original leaves a distinct yet gently bitter after-taste.

Can @ Højbjerg tasting, my house. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt, caramel notes, fruits and hops. Some bread present as well.

Can @ Aarhus tasting. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Light dry and light bitter finish. Watery. 211115

Can, 0.50l, courtesy of Maurizio. Pours clear pale amber color with medium frothy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grainy, dusty and grassy with mild honey note. Taste starts with light sweet grainy and mild caramel malt, following is sour grassy with dry mouthfeel and moderate bitter finish. Light body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Not so bad, but not good either...

Tap at Ottakringer shop. Aroma metallic, sourish, off. Clear golden to amber colour. Stable white head. Taste somewhat soury astringent, metallic. Not good.

50cl can as a gift. Pours clear golden with a fairly small, white head. Mild malty aroma with hints of caramel, fruits and cooked vegetables. Moderate to medium sweet with mild grainy flavours and a very light herbal and slightly grassy bitterness. Drinkable, but very close to the usual pale lager. Not much to write home about.

Canned 500ml. -Clear golden coloured, medium sized white to off-white head, dusty caramel nose. Sweetish malty, slight grassy, hint of caramel and mold with some herbs in the finish. Simply not good.
