Most recent vintage. Aroma is initially dominated by apple cider but that quickly fades and you get a solid amount of the barrel character. Solid pear and fruit esters along with some light malt character. Some alcohol spice in the aroma. Pours a cloudy golden orange, similar to cloudy apple juice. Moderately thick white head with fairly good retention. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor starts with some slightly sweet malt character, but that quickly dissipates and is overwhelmed by apple brandy barrel. The finish is all barrel and alcohol. It unfortunately really overwhelms the base beer. Some fruit notes and moderate bitterness. Wow, I really don?t like the finish. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low but present astringency and moderate alcohol warmth. Overall this beer really missed the mark past the initial taste. The beer is dominated by barrel notes and really doesn?t offer much else. The bitterness also doesn?t work super well with the barrel finish. It actually gets better as it warms.

Slightly hazy burnt orange slight gusher with a head that fades fast. Has an oaky sewage nose. Very dry earthy taste. Apples are present and so is this boozy alcohol burn at the finish. Abv feels more than it is. Very bland boring finish

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks Dagan. Clear golden. Aroma of apples, wood, a bit of yeasty spiciness and alcohol. Sweet fruity alcoholic flavor with apples, brandy, some wood and vanilla. Finishes very alcoholic. Medium-bodied. Kinda hard to drink.

There’s no vintage date on the bottle that I can find, but I believe this is from 2008 Batch 2 its in a green bottle, and thanks to McAllister for the opportunity. Opened over the sink just in case. Pours a deep clear golden color with a decent white head that dissipates almost instantly. Smells of apple, oak tannins, vanilla, ethanol, sweet fruit, and light sugars. The flavor is a little hot There’s lots of sweet fruitiness up front mixed with a bit of sweet brandy then a solid shot of alcohol and oak. Then we get some non descript spices and an earthy flavor. Yeasty esters and sweet light sugary malt fight against a lingering alcohol burn in the finish. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet hot mouthfeel. This is kind of a hodge-podge of flavors and its a bit hot even after a few years. That being said, I really enjoyed this beer.

750mL bottle, sent from BigTomz (thanks Tom), pours a cloudy golden with a towering white head. Aroma of champagne and dry white wine upfront, with dry apples, yeast and a decent sourness. Flavour of semi-sour dry apples, yeast, citrus, funk, and lemon zest, then finishing with a champagne and white wine, semi-sour, dry note. Complex mouthfeel with the perfect touch of sourness. Excellent.

Bottle looks quite simple. Beer in the glass copper coloured, nice head. Starts strong, quite sourish, some fruity hints of apple. Finish a bit unbalanced, moldy-sourish, dry. Not my favourite.

750ml bottle shared by Ryan. Filtered yellow-tan, not much head to speak of..fades and is gone. Very sweet, the apple brandy tones are actually quite similar to a pungent Tripel, so they work well together. Quite interesting, has mellowed out some with age. Sweet, lots of brandy and cognac notes. Boozy ice cider? Quite unique and aged well.

Bottle. Pours apricot gold. White head. Nose/taste of Brett, lemon, apple, tropical fruits and oak. Alcohol noticeable in finish. Dryish apple brandy finish. Medium body.
