The Saison Dupont Bio* is a top fermentation, blond beer with refermentation in the bottle. Created in 1990 and together with the Moinette Bio*, one of the two first organic* beers. The Saison Dupont bio* is a very thirst-quenchening beer with a outspoken bitterness and dryness. You will discover a touch of citrus (especially pomelo) which even is a strenghtening of this thirst-quenchening aspect. The long refermentation in the bottle ends up in a very complex but light beer. The production is being controlled by Certisys and has the label Biogarantie®.

25 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Het Natuurhuis in Antwerp. BBF 05/2015. Pours a hazy bright orange, slightly off-white med. head. Very floral nose, herbal, touch honey, pretty hoppy, citrus, hay, hint cleaning agent,… Floral taste, hay, touch sweetish, honey, light sweet corn, wheat, bitter grass, lemon, pepper, wheat, flowers, yeasty, light hops. Lively carb. Clean but substantial. Pretty interesting & different from the regular one, not on par but quite an interesting & fine brew still. Lemony sweet, apple-pie + hay & floral aftertaste. Slightly tart, this is pretty lovely.

These bio beers often lack something and there’s no exception here. There’s a decent malty flavour but everything seems milder compared to ’the real thing’.

Bottle at home in London. Pours cloudy orange-gold with a moderate, tight white cream head. Grainy wheat aroma with some dry dough and straw. Medium sweet flavor, some dry grainy straw, light bitterness, dry sugars and pale malts, faint yeast. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lightly sticky, lightly dry to finish with dry, doughy malts, biscuits, very lightly toasted sugars, faint lemony citrus. It’s alright.
