The Saison Dupont Bio* is a top fermentation, blond beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Created in 1990 and together with the Moinette Bio*, one of the two first organic* beers.
The Saison Dupont bio* is a very thirst-quenchening beer with a outspoken bitterness and dryness.
You will discover a touch of citrus (especially pomelo) which even is a strenghtening of this thirst-quenchening aspect.
The long refermentation in the bottle ends up in a very complex but light beer.
The production is being controlled by Certisys and has the label Biogarantie®.

Draft @ Malmö Brygghus, Malmö. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small longlasting white head. Has a fruity yeasty spicy citrus aroma. Fresh fruity yeasty hoppy citrus flavor with some weak bitterness. Has a fruity yeasty spicy hoppy citrus finish.

Tastes like moldy barnyard hay. Smell is pretty light, high carbonation with a little floral aroma. Good head retention. Tiny bit of sour that progresses through the bottle. Some wheat flavours somewhere in here as well. Bottle at beerbistro

75 cl bottle. Finally getting around to rating this. Malty, fruity nose, quite spicy too, with lower hops, bread, some lemon. Cloudy gold with lots of bubbles nd a medium, fine head. Rich malt, bread, whet, a slight tang, spicy, some orange. Finish is a bit muddy and dull. Good, but not near as good as the regular version. Lacks the crisp, clean character and hopping. Also lighter, thinner.

Slightly hazy light orange golden colour, fluffy white head. Aroma quite funky, wet dog, fruity orange coming through. Carrot cake. Slight vanilla spices. Flavour rather dry and hoppy, slight sweet and sour tones. Reminding of white wine to some extent. Spicy sweetness coming through. Finish dry and rather white wine or champagne like. Nice one!

Tested in vertical with Moinette biologique. A bit earthy, farmhouse-like aroma with some sweaty t-shirt. But still kind of soapy fresh and a bit fruity too. Also some honey. Flavour is fresh with earthy and fruity notes and hints of honey. Moinette wins the vertical by one point because it is more rich than this.

25cl bottle @ Les Caves Dupont. Couleur paille, col blanc. Arôme fleuri houblonné qui est vraiment mis en avant laissant un nez quasi épicé. Cette version biologique a vraiment un arôme différent et me rappelle l’odeur que l’on a en rentrant dans un moulin à grains. En bouche, bière légère et sèche avec ce côté de grains concassés. Le tout est suivit par une légère amertume et une note de levure rappelant encore le profile Dupont. Herbacé et sec, le palais garde une carbonation et amertume moyenne avec un malt allemand/belge type cara/pils.
