(Bottle) Hazy reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty fruity nose with caramel, dried fruit, honey, chestnuts, brown sugar and spices. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, caramel, brown sugar, hints of crisp-bread and a balanced spicy bitterness in a finish with some sweetness and a gentle alcohol glow. Full body, with soft and well balanced mouthfeel for its strength. Fairly sweet. Quite well balanced and tasty for its alcohol level. very nice.

Bottle. A- Figs, dates, nutmeg, cinnamon, spice, malty, sweet. A- Dark auburn color, chunky liquid, beige head. T- Dates, nutmeg, spices, malty, slightly sweet, oak, alcohol, butterscotch, soy. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth malty finish. O- At first sight and smell I loved this beer. Then I looked closer and saw all the yeast floating around like nasty backwash. I hate that. Always ruins a beer for me. I tried to look past it but couldn’t. None the less, this is a pretty darn good beer that probably deserves a better rating than I gave it.

750ml bottle kindly shared by Rune&Finn 18.06.14.Dark reddish hazy body. Malt and a sting of orange, some perfume, butterscotch and cherry aroma. Grapefruit, malt, almond and alcohol, with a sweet and rather dry ending.

Pours ruby red with small head, aroma of dark wood and malts. Lots of earthiness in this one. Alcohol not readily apparent, but does creep up on you. Taste is malt, wood, clove. and some alcohol burn. Short finish. A bit milder than some if its Belgian cousins, but highly drinkable.

750ml bottle topped by a cork and a wire cradle. Fair fawn-coloured head. Near-clear amber coloured body. Aroma of herbal and spiced hops. Malt-fruity flavours, almond, raisin, and bitter ripe fruits towards the ending. Noticeable alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Heavy, sweet and dry. Satisfying (shared at a rating session at Finns place, Tromsø 18.06.2014).

375 oz. bottle from a four pack. 12/26/14 stamped on the neck, huge foamer, that was a slow gusher. Bright amber pour with a soapy head that finally died after the gush. Aroma is a sweet bready yeasty note, dark fruit, and light alcohol.
Flavor displays a higher note of alcohol note then it should have after this amount of settling. The flavor has a nice base but the ABV does throw it off. mouthfeel has a strong blast of sugar that lingers. Good but not nearly as good as the other quads sampled this evening.

Flaske 0,75l fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Kjøpt inn sammen med Rune og delt i godt selskap på Nerstranda 18 Jun 14. Mørk amber. Lavt, litt farget skum. God aroma av mørke plommer. Smaken er mandler med en svakt syrlig ettersmak.

Floral hops. Pours cloudy orange with good head and lacing. Huge floral yeast aroma with some citrus light plum and some raisin. Finishes flowery sweet. Had this at a Vietnamese restaurant. Decent package, bottle.
