Brewed by employing a double mash (two separate mashes) consisting of only Marris Otter and boiled for 6 hours. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, then it was moved gently to rest in FOUR ROSES bourbon barrels for the next 18 months. The product is named after Bertha, our brewery deer...or dog, we aren't sure what she is.

750ml bottle pours out cola brown topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet caramel malts some toffee and a nice bourbon barrel kick. Taste is more of the nice sweet caramel toffee malts bourbon barrel vanilla and a little pitfruit.

Bottle thanks to Ian. Pours a dark amber with small tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is candi sugar, caramel, oak, bourbon. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.

Magnum at Black Christmas 2018
Dark amber colour. Rich caramel, brown sugar, treacle, maybe molasses, but also some phenol, and burning alcohol, cookies.
Interesting.

During Black Christmas 2018. Magnum. Dark brown. Sweet, barrel, candies. Very oily. Nice one.

Magnum. Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of candied dark fruit, sweet bourbon, caramel and sweet toasted malts. Flavors of candi sugar, maple syrup, sweet bourbon, oak and bready malts

Magnum, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings a deep dark mahogany with a small white head. Aroma brings out dark fruits, oak barrels and toasted caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with caramel, dark fruits, and oak. Lovely complexity, with a sweet, silky finish. Very good.
