Our citrusy and refreshing Berliner Weisse is a modern take on a true Berlin classic. Brewed using the same traditional lactic acid cultures as the Berlin brewers of the 1920's, our Berliner Weisse is a bright and sparkling thirst-quencher. The beer embodies the liveliness of summer with the fruity tang of lemon and melon, further complimented by the tartness of rhubarb and gooseberries. To ensure a properly Stone (and therefore iconoclastic) Berliner Weisse, we upped the ABV to a healthy 4.7% and hopped the beer with new German varieties, Huell Melon and Callista.

Sampled @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2017. A hazy pale golden beer with a mid sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of wheat malt, mild sweet banana. Taste of tart fruits, yeast, yellow fruits, some salt.

Stone's Berlin installment producing a Berliner Weisse - seems appropriate for the location... Can at Ganzerik in Ghent. Irregularly cobweb-lacing, egg-white, moussy head, hazy lemony yellow blonde colour. Aroma of lemon curd, sour yoghurt, yellow grapefruit juice, margarine, sourdough, cucumber, Sauerkraut, lime juice, wakame. Crisp, sour onset, lemony but not acidly puckering, spritzy minerally carbo, raw pineapple-, green banana- and lime-like fruitiness, hard green pear too, yellow grapefruit but without its bitterness; supple doughy, wheaty-soapy mouthfeel, feeling quite 'full' for a beer below 5% ABV, lemon soap and sour yoghurt flavours dominating in the middle, almost hand soap-like in the end, adding a rounded, mellow, very elegant and delicately aromatic citrusy and floral hoppiness; a chalky note lingers too, as in your typical, traditional Berliner Weisse. A good idea indeed, trying to connect with local traditions, and updating them with modern, New World-inspired German hop varieties; softly sour but very refreshing and refined.

Can 33 cl. Pours yellow with a slight haze and a small, white head. Dry, lactic tartness in the nose. Light-bodied, again very dry and slightly tart in a yoghurt kinda way. Straight Berliners is still very much an acquired taste. 161117

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours crisp pale gold with low white foam. Aroma is vague lemony and barn. Body is slightly dense with good carbonation. Taste is very pleasantly sour, with only limited sweetness. Finish is short and clean.
