Union Hall, Brooklyn tap ($5): Pours a pale gold with a white head. Aroma of malts, grain, and bread. Rather smooth brew, not particularly complex, but the flavors are in right proportions. There is some hop bitterness in there, along with a solid amount of malt. In other words, does not taste at all watery. Can’t really taste the wheat and don’t understand why some people saw corn in here.

Draught, 5.0% at the brewpub. Good fruity and flowery hop aroma. Seemingly clear yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is fruity with a good spicy hop note. Has a little earthy hop note as well. The finish is a bit watery. Not as clean as a real Kölsch, but a good attempt at the style.

on tap at Stags Head. Pours is standard golden. Taste is dry yet crisp with hints of wheat and corn. Not a lot going on but not unpleasant.

A blonde ale with a thick lacing white head. Pleasant light malt aroma with light Czech hops. In mouth, a light crisp malt with light mineral notes, light hops, boring. On tap at House of Brews, 46th St., July 2 2009. Came as part of Burger special, 10$.

Location: On tap at the Brew Pub Sept ’08
Overall Impression: This was a half decent Blonde, but nothing special, but hey, I don’t love Blondes anyway (the beers that is).

(On tap) Slightly hazy, golden beer with a small, white head. Vague, floral aroma. Rather ligh in body with sweetish malt accents and some floral notes of aroma hops. No bitterness. 170307

On draught at House of Brews in NYC. Pours golden yellow with a thin ivory head that has decent retention. Minimal lacing. Weak aroma of fruit and hops. Light-bodied and effervescent with a grassy hops flavor, as well as hints of fruit and malt. The finish is short and citrusy. Not very high on the Kölsch scale, but a decent beer in its own rite.
