750ml bottle pours out a brown with some red highlights. Nose is lots of sweetness honey roast malt chocolate and some spice. Taste is more of the heavy sweetness honey chocolate. I love me some sweetness so this was ok by me.

On tap at Rogue San Francisco, pours a cloudy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is like a bee hive, bringing out waxy nectar and caramel. Flavour brings out honey, syrupy caramel notes, and some slight resinous hops. Well-balanced, but not the most refined or elegant mead. Solid - drinkable in smaller amounts.

Tap at Rogue, Portland. Colour is clear reddish copper with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Sweetness, honey, caramel and hints of chocolate. Well, I am not a fan of this kind of beers.

On tap at Rogue, San Francisco. A brown, unclear drink with a thin, light beige head. The aroma has a touch of dark bread, caramel, dried fruits and some citrus peel notes. There’s a warming alcohol touch in the mouth, it’s full-bodied and soft, with flavors of dried fruits, caramel, bread and some chocolate. Hints of honey shows up after a while. Lasting sweet finish with all the goodiness found initially. A strong drink, but very nice. 130805

On tap at Pro Brewers Night, AHA Philadelphia 6/27/2013 A bit of bready and caramel malt with lots of alcohol and honey sweetness. That’s a big beer, tasty but strong.
