Muffin Top combines the attributes of a Belgian Tripel with a huge burst of American hops. Intense flavors from the Belgian yeast, reminiscent of candied fruits, mix with the hop bitterness and sweet orange peel to create a unique take on a Belgian-Style ale.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured a dark caramel color with a small foamy orange-white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was faint sugar and golden fruits. The flavor was dryish, tangy and boozy with notes of table sugar, candied pear, apricot, pepper and a yeasty and astringent undertone. Turns dry towards the long finish of table sugar, booze, pear and pepper. Moderately full bodied. Decent.

From notes. Bottle poured into a shaker. Yeasty cotton candy. A good bit of hops as a nice backbone. Solid!

65 cl bottle @ olio, no BBE info
Aroma has soapy citrus, caramel, biscuits, resin and some grassy hops. Flavour has caramel, apricot, some citrus, urinal cake and grassy hops. Quite close to what it promises to be β a belgian ale, tripel and IPA in the same bottle. Grassy hops take over the flavour at the end of the glass.

650ml bottle
Pours orange with a foamy white head. Fruity, sticky aroma with notes of hops and caramely malts. Taste is sweetish with hints of tangy fruity hops, spices, caramely malts and toffee. Finish is sweet and malty with some fruitness and dry bitter notes. Okay, quite malty and fruity Belgian styled IPA.

Medium, dense & stable yellow to creamcoloured head, over clear foxy-orange beer. Fruity USA hops, citrus, also something salty & shrimp-like; impression of solvent; wet dog. Very bitter-hoppy. Orange- and other citruszeste, quinine. Caramelly-fruity background, like bitter orangesβ syrup or -liqueur. Feels very slick (hopoily) and well-bodied, but also very carbonated, slighly burning. Long bitter aftertaste. The umpteenth attempt at marrying real or imagined "styles". Against better judgement - but it succeeded, this time. Rather bitter.
