Bottle. Very dark brown almost black. Aroma was coffee, chocolate. Taste was burnt toast, coffee, chocolate, roasted grains. Not as sweet as one would imagine.

After a hard pour, there is a nice brown head sitting atop a very black beer. Aroma is lactic, and mily, with some notes of burnt chocolate, and coffee.
Flavour is quite lactic, and roasty. A good stout, but the lactic funk gets to be a little much, not my favorite style, I guess.

Backlog September 2011. Black body under a dense beige head. Strong aroma of dark malt, expresso coffee and some chocolate. Nice taste of strong, dark malt, slightly sour expresso coffee, smooth milk chocolate and moderate bitterness. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. Nice.

Bottle. A- Roasty, cocoa, mild licorice. A- Black color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Roasty, cream, cocoa. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Better than the Kalamazoo stout but still not super impressed. Solid stout, but wanted more espresso flavor or cocoa or something. It was pretty generic.
