There are so few reviews of this beer because it runs $25 on shelves for a 375ML. I buy it when I can. Finall took notes at Fuj’s epic Gueuzapalooza fest last weekend aside other Schaerbeek cherry lambics. Dark blood red appearance. Nose is gigantic. So much fruitiness, jammy with a touch of funk. This beer stands out among the rest, even beside LP Kriek. The 3F Schaerbeek Krek wins hands down but this is a close second. Lots of cherry, oak and woody funk. wet hay with tight cherry jelly.

Vintage looking label. Glad I found this ( in the US ) Pours dark , unclear red , no head amazing cherry scent . Sweeter than the regular. Taste is sharp sour . Bit wattery , but with a whole lot of cherry goodness ! Intense sour, almost like Oudbeitje . Cherry is actually in the back , while the taste itself is thin . The fact that it doesnt have any carbonation doesnt help ;)

A small pop when I pulled the cork out, it pours a very dark...very dark red that almost looks black. A bit of foam here that has a decidedly reddish tint to it.
The smell is very sour, sour cherries and vinegar mixed with some oak barreling vanilla notes but that is pushed way to the back. I’m surprised I noticed it.
Super wine like flavours going on with tannins jumping out at me. The cherry tartness is very tasty, don’t get a lot of vinegar at all, some oak vanilla, super tart in the finish.
Medium bodied with SOME carbonation, light it being.
Hey, guess what? I dig this. Another enjoyable brew from Hanssens.

375mL bottle at Grote Dorst, pours an opaque cloudy pink / ruby red with a small bubbly head. Nose brings out loads of intense cherries, signature Hanssens funk, and more cherries. Flavour is intensely funky for a fruit lambic. I'm sure some of the cherries have fade with age - not sure what year this is. Other than funk, there are smooth cherries that round out the palate. Mouthfeel is very smooth and restrained, nearly flat, since it is a kriekenlambik. Excellent stuff.

Bottle - Funky tart cherry and a bit of acetone. Pink orange with no head. Lots of up front tartness with a vinegar finish. Cherries are there but lots of tartness dominates.

375ml bottle pours out a ruby no head. Nose is nice cherries funk and wood. Taste is as the nose with a nice cherrie funk pucker and some wood.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy pink with no head. The aroma is oak and cherry skins. Thin mouthfeel with tart cherry and oak with very sour finish. Very impressive.

Bottle sample at a sour tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks zvikar. Beautiful deep red to purple color with no head. Lovely aroma of cherries, oak, leather, lemon, vinegar notes and a bit of barnyard. Sour flavor, funky, oaky, with cherries and a lemony finish, puckering and astringent, with a light acidic burn in the throat. Lovely.

Too expensive corked and caged small bottle. Pours a deep dark reddish color with almost no head. A big very sour woody and fruity nose. Sour cherry, some sweeter pie cherries as well, wood, sawdust, lacto. Really is janus faced being super sweet and very sour. Good brew.
