Schlafly Quadrupel is, as its name implies, a serious beer. But don’t be intimidated. This fourth beer in our bottle-conditioned Belgian-style beer series has a rich, malty backbone that is generously balanced by select, fresh hops to create a luscious, smooth character. Sharing it with friends enhances the enjoyment, whether in front in front of a roaring fire or at the finest dinner party. Quadrupel will be available year-round, but in limited quantities, with the initial batch being 150 cases.

Bottle 75cl. @ Papsoes blindtasting. [ Bottle #14. ]Unclear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sour notes, fruity, wood, moderate alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light acidic with a average to long duration, alcohol warm. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft, light alcoholic. [20100327]

Bottle @ Papsø. Tasted blind. Pours clear reddish amber with a creamy white head and lacings. Nose is tart of berries, red wine and yeast. Flavor adds caramel, almond and alcohol. Vinous. Full bodied. Warmth... Good.

75 cL bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is phenolic, fruity and slight yeasty. Sweet fruity flavoured, light malt note mixed with a lot of yeasty fruit flavours. Smooth and mellow. Lingering fruity, malty and yeasty finish.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours amber with a slight haze and an off-white head. Aroma has overripe fruit and a slight tartness. Medium body, very sweet fruits - slightly overripe - again with a discreet tartness. A little yeast too. Rather warming alcohol finish. 270310

courtesy of cartdan pours brown, beige head. aroma apple, yeasty, rancid fruits. taste was similar, apple, funky, not really anything that would fit the style.Some notes of dark fruits, with a lasting funky aftertaste. Not horrible but definitely something wrong with the beer.

Bottle shared by bu11zeye at the Stone Sourfest. Pours with a light brown hazy body and a tan head. Aroma of plastic, alcohol, dark fruits and raisins. Taste is alcohol, toffee, dark fruits and raisins. Plenty of burn. Medium carbonation.

750 bottle. Pours is fairly light. Almost a tarnished penny color. Head is medium to small, but there’s a bit of them that seem to be sticking around. Aromas are ok but a little boozy. There is a pretty good red grape, wine, raisin presence a bit of other fruit. Flavor has a HUGE wallop of alcohol, which is followed by lots of fruit and then some more abc warmth. Pretty good stuff, but I’m not sure this meets my expectations of a standard quad.

750ml bottle @Noogfest High5 Thanks butters–pours a white ring for a head and cloudy amber color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, spice/herbal hops. Taste is very spicy hops, medium malt.

Pour is a cloudy brown with a large tan head. Aroma at first is sour and very wine like. After it breathes more of a fruity and candi sugar aspect takes over. Flavor is lots of candi sugar and dark fruits with a whallop of alcohol to follow. Kinda like alcohol infused gummy bears. Finish is thick with some molasses rich malts and again lots of alcohol burn. Well made beer but i probably won’t need another unless some age takes off the alcohol burn.
