Regina d’Inverno si presenta di colore nero con una bella schiuma beige intenso, quasi marrone. Una vera esplosione di aromi. Le note tostate di caffè e cioccolato, tipiche dello stile, vengono impreziosite da sensazioni di dolcezza conferite dall’uvetta e da note speziate e balsamiche apportate da zenzero e luppoli.

Il corpo è leggero e l’attacco al palato apparentemente dolce, lascia spazio a ciò che una vera Porter dovrebbe manifestare. Caffè, cioccolato e liquirizia primeggiano senza però nascondere la speziatura originale dell’uvetta che le dona quel tocco in più di dolcezza e dello zenzero e scorza d’arancia che le regalano freschezza e, insieme ai luppoli, conducono la bevuta verso un finale piacevolmente amaro.

La notevole etichetta di questa birra nasce dalla collaborazione con la Film-Maker portoghese Regina Pessoa che, ispirandosi al suo film “Kali the little vampire”, ha ripreso la riflessione sul contrasto buio/luce attraverso il disegno. Il protagonista in principio nega il proprio lato oscuro e arriva, solo alla fine, ad accettarlo scoprendone le qualità.

Bottle Pours black, big grey head . Smell is bit bitter, faded coffee . Too high carbo ( way to high ) Taste is rather weak , some coffee , some chocolate . Roasted malts, balanced , but a bit weak.

33cl bottle, Angleterre. Bb 30/09/16. Spicy, very peppery aroma, covering much else. Flavor has peppers, roastedness, spices. Quite spicy. Decent.

Dunkelbraunes Bier mit großer Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Karamell, Schokolade, Vanille. Geschmack röstmalzig süß, Schokolade, würzig.

Bottle 0.33l at Hadanka, Helsinki. BBE 30/09/2016. Colour is black with small brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Chocolate, hints of coffee and roasted malts. Quite carbonated but not bad.

Bottle 330ml @Beer Hunters
Dark brown color, small beige head. Toasted, ginger spicey aroma. Medium-bodied. Christmasy, ginger spicey, dark fruity. Some toasted maltyness. Nice Xmas beer - in small quantities.

Smell of licorice. Black colour, dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, some licorice and ash. Mildly bitter. Very soft palate, very flat carbon.

Bottled@HBF2013. Black colour, small beige head. Aroma is leather, liquorice, some ashes and sweet maltyness. Flavour is liquorice, sweet malts and some smoked, salty and toffeeish notes. More like a stout than a porter.

Pours dark brown with a bubbly head. Aroma of grainy malts and fruity hops. Taste is mildly roasty and fruity with hints of sweet milk chocolate and vanilla. Finish is sweetish and malty with mild roastiness. Decent porter.

Aroma has cocoa, roasted notes and semi‐dark chocolate. Flavour has cocoa, well roasted malt and some coffee in the finish. Nice.
