Velvet Glow is an homage to an old Grace Brother’s Brewing beer brewed right here in Santa Rosa! The Grace Brother’s brewery was around from 1933 to 1966, where they created many iconic beer brands including Velvet Glow and Happy Hops. This Helles style lager is a clean, crisp, and refreshing beer with a bright straw color, aromas and flavors of bread crust and biscuit. There is a very low bitterness with a mild hop aroma.

500mL bottled 11/03/22, drunk 12/9/22. Clear, blonde-golden with a small, white head. Dusty, fruity, sweaty hops on top of honey and cereal-like malts. Vanilla, honey, biscuit... Soft, malty, cereal-like with herbal hop bitterness to balance and plentiful biscuit and light citrus. Quite clean and super drinkable. Very carbonated.

Bottle. Straw colour and a slight haze. No head. Big bread aroma, and it's the same on the palate. Just a touch of pear fruitiness and a hint of graininess. But it's not a bad helles type of thing. Solid brew, though.

From a bottle. Pours a clear pale gold with a big white head. Aromas of biscuit and lemon. Flavors are moderately bitter hops and slightly sweet grains. Not your father’s pale lager.

On tap at Fathom Bistro. Pours golden with medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is straw, cracker, citrus. Medium body, cracker malt, wheat, light dry finish, very good.

On tap at Russian River, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is crisp, with herbaceous and grassy notes, and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is crisp, with lots of fresh herbaceous and grassy notes, and crisp crackery malt. Fresh and vibrant. Really great helles.

Golden with a white head - Malt aroma with hints of hops - Malt body with some hints of citrus hop flavour that gives bitterness - The malt with some nice hop bitterness goes into the finish - This was nice

Put together carefully like all Russian River beers. Clear yellow body with lasting white head. Hoppy and yeasty aroma. Malty taste with a bit of fruit and spice. Clean finish

Nothing special to this except for balance, which somehow makes an ordinary beer into something above average. Golden pour with decent head. Good malt backbone. Light bitter finish but this is almost more like a Saison than a pale. Bottle.
