Brooklyn Shackmeister Ale was developed for the sort of fresh-off-the-grill staples that everyone loves. A slightly sweet malt base and a refreshing burst of hops makes it a welcome companion to griddled burgers, crisp fries, snappy hot dogs and beyond.

2 oz draft sample at the Orlando Tater Tots & Beer Fest. Clear medium gold color with an off-white head and good retention. Decent flavor; a little boring.

[2/9/17] Bottle at JFK International Airport in New York City. Golden with a white head. Grainy malt, bready, mildly sweetish, bitterish floral and citric hops finish. Decent and easy-drinking.

18 oz at Shake Shack in Tokyo. Light caramel and some earthy hops as it warms. Sweet and nutty on the palate with some light pepper as it warms up a tad. Maybe served a bit too cold. Average carbonation. Not a bad bitter. Easy drinking and matched burger quite well. --- Beer merged from original tick of Shackmeister Ale on 06 Feb 2016 at 15:18 - Score: 6. Original review text: Malty and boring. Not bad, just boring.

On draught at Shake Shack. Clear copper color with a medium thin white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing. Aroma of malt, hops and fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, mild hops and fruit. The finish is malty with an earthy hops aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Had this at Shake Shack burgershop in Grand Central Station, NY. Can’t remember much, was straight from the bottle. Lagerish taste, mild malts, hoppy finish, light body. Was ok however.
