The 'original' Boucanier, commissioned by Icobes (International Company Beers Ltd.). Formerly known as Bière du Boucanier Blonde and based on Piraat or even an alias of it.

Queen of the "Belgian Strong Ale" category, the incomparable and renowned golden blond beer, defined in the insert Lekkerbek (Gourmet) of the Belgian daily newspaper Gentenaar of 7 October 2001 as one of the "Three Top" of the "Belgian strong ale & triple ale" category.
It’s the strongest of Boucanier beers with intense and vigorous rich malt taste, powerful and harmonious aftertaste.
For the high quality and excellent taste Boucanier Golden Ale:
- won the golden medal with 3 stars of the “Superior Taste Award 2014” of ITQI in Brussels;
- became a Country Winner in the selection of the "WORLD BEER AWARDS 2019" in the UK;
- won the silver medal at the "LONDON BEER COMPETITION 2019", taking the third place among 350 competing beers from all over the world;
- obtained the "GRAND GOLD 2020", important German award by Frankfurt International Trophy.
It is a typical convivial beer, excellent for meditation and for special celebrations or to drink with gourmet foods.
Perfect tasting temperature is 46,4-53,6 °F / 8-12 °C.

Flaske 0,33l delt med Rune på Keizsershof Hotel i Aalst 1 Mai 11. Lys gylden. Litt uklar. Lavt kremaktig skum. Lett fruktig aroma. Litt syrlig. Smaken er preget av styrken: Søt alkohol hele veien.

Bottle at home (a while ago), as La Bière du Boucanier Golden Ale. Unclear golden color, white head. Smell sweet and spicy, taste the same. Good carbo and body.

Bottle, as La Bière du Boucanier Golden Ale. An unclear one, golden in color and with a dense, white head of moderate size. Cellar hints on the nose, with white sugar and a spice touch, fruityness and some alcohol. It’s too sugary sweet and alcohol warming in the mouth, with a pleasant fruityness saving the day. Warming, sweet and fruity in the finish. Full-bodied. Overall, too warming and sugary, but drinkable indeed, although in small quantities. 110311

330ml bottle picked up at Belgium Beers in Antwerpen. Bubbly white head to a golden body with a slight haze. Sweet fruity aroma with noticeable alcohol. Sweet malts and fruits in flavour and with an extra dosage of alcohol sweetness to the ending. Dull (shared with Finn, hotel room, Aalst 01.05.2011).

Bottle from Asao. Grainy aroma with candi sugar, spicy yeast, orange, and a spot of green veggies. Slight alcohol burn too. Deepmgold with lots of quickly rising bubbles and a medium head. Sweet flavor with grains and sugar and honey and quite a bit of alcohol. Honey- lemon, spicy. Sweet, hot, and fruity, with peaches. A bit of hop bitterness in the finish.

Bottled from Koruna Pralines, Bratislava. Golden color with nice thick white. Aroma, fruity, hoppy. Taste, banana, lemon and strong vanish finish. I hope, only beer was broken, due to bad storage.
